In-House Orientation

New Full-Time Faculty Orientation is a mandatory training requirement for all of our new full-time faculty members. This internal training occurs each August in conjunction with CEDP. Typically, faculty attend these 3.5 days of in-person training the week following CEDP – this is subject to change depending on CEDP dates. This training is delivered in addition to CEDP to focus on teaching & learning, policies, and best practices specific to St. Clair College. Topics include but are not limited to curriculum, course outlines, class syllabus, lesson planning, Blackboard, accommodation plans, classroom management, academic integrity, etc. Faculty members are sent notifications for this training via email during the summer of hiring. For faculty hired off-cycle, arrangements will be made for another offering of orientation in January or May depending on the number of new full-time hires.
