Creating a Syllabus
Elements of the Course Syllabus
There are three compulsory components on a St. Clair College syllabus as per policy (see above "Creating a Syllabus"):
- A clear statement that it is a plan of learning and that it is subject to change
- A proposed learning plan built on a weekly or class basis of the topics that will be covered over the semester
- Planned assessments* with identified due dates
*Note: 30% of the total marks by week 7
Below are some additional components that could be added to the syllabus OR included on expectations/guidelines. These should be reviewed on day 1-2 of the class.
